AT&T Services

High-speed data connectivity via AT&T's 3G mobile broadband data network: The dual-band 850/1900 MHz 3G network provides up to 3.6/7.2 Mbps of download speed, making it possible to enjoy a variety of feature-rich wireless multimedia services, and it gives you the advantage of offering simultaneous voice and data services. Additionally, this phone is also compatible with 2100 MHz 3G networks found in international territories. (For use outside the United States, an AT&T international data plan is recommended.)

In areas where the 3G network is not available, you'll continue to receive service on the AT&T EDGE network, which offers availability in more than 13,000 US cities and along some 40,000 miles of major highways. Providing average data speeds between 75-135Kbps, it's fast enough to support a wide range of advanced data services, including full picture and video messaging, high-speed color Internet access, and email on the go.

The full-featured, premium AT&T Navigator GPS navigation application includes audible turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic updates and re-routing options, and 3D moving maps (additional charges applicable). AT&T Navigator offers several other features to make your commute more enjoyable and reliable, including mobile access to Yellowpages.com. Additionally, AT&T Navigator is the only mobile phone-based GPS service that provides integrated speech recognition for address entry and points of interest search.

AT&T's Video Share service enables you to send a live, one-way video stream to another compatible phone during a standard voice call. The service also allows you to switch the direction of the video stream during the same phone call. (Customers must be in an area served by the company's 3G network and have a Video Share-enabled phone.) While using Video Share with family and friends is a fun way to communicate, it's also very useful for business. For example, a majority of users in the architecture, engineering and construction industries rated the ability to share live video through Video Share highly, according to research commissioned by AT&T. Video Share lets you see progress on a job site or review the day's work without having to drive from an office or other site to do so.

AT&T Mobile Music enables you to buy tracks while on the go, access the Napster and eMusic subscription music services, stream music video, discover what's playing with Music ID song-recognition software, and find out what's hot with The Buzz music news portal.

Choose from a wide assortment of channels from AT&T Mobile TV.
AT&T Mobile TV allows you to watch mobile TV in broadcast quality. Tune-in to see full-length episodes of your favorite soaps, sitcoms, sports, or news programs from the networks you love. 1 out of 5 stars Crap Phone! Beware of all the Issues   February 26, 2010
Constructive Review (CA United States)
From outside & pictures it looks like mini-iphone. But its crap because,

- PC connectivity (New PC Suite) software allows only media file transfer. NOT POSSIBLE to synchronize Phone Address book/Contancts/Calendar with outlook etc. Which age are we living where there is NO Contancts/Calendar sync feature with PC?
- On standby with only 1-2 voice calls daily and with bluetooth, media player, data plan TURNED OFF, battery is dead in 2 days....first 2 days only 1 battery bar is consumed & in last 1 hour all bars are consumed with low battery indication.
- Can not connect to PC using bluetooth. Tried 3 PCs, 2 different versions "New PC Studio software", Samsung's L1, L2 & L3 support. Samsung L3 support says if USB cable works then we don't support bluetooth...so funny!
- You can not change screen savers. So nice LCD displays shows all photos which annoys you.
- Camera is very very slow. It take picture 3-5 seconds after clicking so always photo saved is different than photo shown when you clicked
- GPS is turned off unless you pay AT&T to turn it on using their map program. You can't use any other mapping program with it.
- The touch screen is not very responsive for fast movements.
- It comes with a bunch of apps that you have to pay to use, and it does not let you use the many java apps that it is capable of using.
- The browser is slow and does not display web pages well. Not really functionally usable. It will drain whole battery in half an hour
- This phone is simply a trick by AT&T to suck more money out of your pocket once you buy it because you have to pay for everything (apps/games)

4 out of 5 stars Excellent phone . . .I have been pleasantly surprised thus far.   February 26, 2010

This is a cool little phone. I love the social networking widgets on the home page I can tap and I'm into my facebook or MySpace. I have not figured out how to get a Twitter widget, but I'm sure there's a way. I've only had it for a couple of days. I love the universal micro USB charging port, which means I can use all of the accessories from my last phone. One con I have read is that the phone is too slippery . . .I bought a snap on case for it which took care of that as well as a screen protector which does not afftect the touch screen responsiveness. I would suggest calibrating the screen whenever you use one. The sound is great, the speakers are LOUD if you want them to be. The best feature is the touch keyboard for web and text. It is highly responsive and I make very few mistakes, the only one I have had that experience with as I have used the Vu, Dare, among others. My only gripe is that the left margin widgets and apps pull out in the home screen when they are touched and this also occurs when I scroll down with my finger. This is hard to control, and a bit annoying. It also does not always vibrate in response to pressing buttons on website, so you may hit it a couple to times thinking it did not work, but just look at the progress icon at the top and it tells you. These are nitpicks, but this is a very slick phone that meets all of my needs and it's a lot of fun to use. I would suggest a case and screen protectors for accessories on this. Don't be a cheap-ass. This will help keep your phone nice and new and you will enjoy it more. Amazon's price also makes this phone a slam dunk. It is very pricey at the retail stores and even at stores like RadioShack. This is the way to go.

1 out of 5 stars Do not buy this phone unless you understand this.   February 25, 2010

Before you buy this phone you need to understand that it is locked into using AT&T applications. The GPS is turned off unless you pay AT&T to turn it on using their map program. You can't use any other mapping program with it. Access to the files and data is only available using their program and they limit what you can access. There is no way to adjust the "beeps" for charger hook-up etc. without silencing everything on the phone. The touch screen is not very responsive unless you use your fingernail. It comes with a bunch of apps that you have to pay to use, and it does not let you use the many java apps that it is capable of using. The browser is slow and does not display web pages well. Not really functionally usable. It does not let you download any other browsers to access the web. This phone is simply a trick by AT&T to suck more money out of your pocket once you own it.

4 out of 5 stars Pretty good phone   February 22, 2010

I was hesitant to buy my first all touch screen phone, especially from Samsung (past bad experiences). But I was presently surprised when I got the phone and have been using it for a few months now.

Positives: large screen, easy to operate, sleek design, thin, 3 home screens, customizeable home screens, dragable widgets, when on phone call the screen dims or blacks out when held up to ear, compatable with some lg chargers, comes with a usb cable.

Negatives:lock screen photos can't be changed, virtual keyboard is not very accurate, flash on camera is way too bright, no zoom while taking a picture, reletively small memory capacity, some problems when clicking on links or things like them on the browser.

All in all it is a solid phone, I wouldn't necessarely recommend it to someone over an iPhone, but if you were looking for a phone without a data plan, this is a great phone.

Any questions? e-mail me (seterith@yahoo.com)

-Thanks
Kyle J. L.

5 out of 5 stars Fantastic   February 16, 2010

I received the samsung mythic yesterday, it is by far the coolest phone I have upgraded to.
At first I had a problem with figuring out how to put my SD card in, but after I found out
how my appreciation for purchasing this phone had grew even more.
The touchscreen on this phone is WAY more responsive than my quickfire. Everything about this
phone is fantastic. I highly recommend it.
